I was in Belgrade twice this year as irremediably fell in love with the White City. Not only it seemed to me so vibrant, joyous and green, but a host of great people.
On a warm May day I was looking at the cloudless sky while sitting on the grass in Kalemegdan. Mr. Vladan, an old gentleman with a sports newspaper approached and we embarked into a conversation with “words, hands and pen”- a wonderful experience so dear and unique to me. Need I say that Mr. Vladan did not speak any languages I have knowledge of, but still, we managed to understand each other. And the kiss on the cheek I received from him when we said goodbye, I will always treasure. Only in Belgrade such an experience could have taken place!
