It's a great place! My husband and I moved to Belgrade from NYC three years ago and Kafana was in our old neighborhood. Before moving here we used to go there to get an idea of what Serbia would be like and check out the food. We had our first cevapi, gibanica and kajmak there.

My daughter is living in New York right now. I sent her this link – this looks like a wonderful place to visit. Thanks, Karl! Hugs and best wishes.

Where does he get kaymak, and mladi sir (young cheese)? These can't be readily found outside the Balkans. Does he make his own? Hats off to him if the food is authentic. Looks a great place.
Joanna says:
One of my favorite restaurants.
