Vedrana Grbović (Miss Serbia in 2006) recently made this fantastic short video showing her favorite places in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It’s a short video (three minutes) but Vedrana presents well why it’s worth visting Belgrade, and why Belgrade is a fantastic city to live in. Belgrade, what else?
Melissa Enderle, a Tech Facilitator living in Chennai, India, but originally from Wisconsin, USA, misses the colors of Serbia:
Visions of leaves aglow in the Kalemegdan Fortress of Belgrade pass through my mind, reminiscing about the wonderful walks I had in Serbia during the fall. Here in the South Indian city of Chennai, the only thing that really marks a change in season is the growing puddles (or floods) in the roads from the start of the monsoon.
Maria Almeida, a half Brazilian, half Portuguese girl leaving in Brazil, put up an excellent post talking about her favourite place in the world: Kalemegdan and Belgrade Fortress. It’s worth watching her beautiful pictures of Kalemegdan. You can read an excerpt from her blog post below, but it’s worth reading the whole thing:
My favourite place in this world: Kalemegdan. Before going to Serbia for the first time, I remember seeing pictures of Kalemegdan and wanting to go there first thing once in Belgrade -and it ended up becoming such a special place to me that I’d go there almost every single day when I was in Belgrade. I would go all the way into the fortress (entering it from Knez Mihailova) and sit on its walls, facing the confluence of the rivers Sava and Danube, Veliki Ratno Ostrvo, Novi Beograd and Zemun on the far background.
